Hi fishes,
Any guess how many people are laid off from Publicis sapient in past few days? Really scared for my future as I'm also under probation period and deeply regret for my choice of joining this firm...I don't understand why were they recruiting peeps when they were short of projects. Publicis Sapient

Guys there’s this boot camp that I came across that trains people to get jobs in Top consulting firms and has a fee plan wherein you pay once you get placed. I just wanted to know if someone here has any experience with this ?

Every firm has the same cycle of getting f***ed / not getting f***ed - grin and bear it ...
Personally I would just stay at Accenture.
@D1, here's my challenge...currently a Manager, up for Sr. Manager, meet all of the quals and should no doubt be a shoo in at mid year. Problem is, with the new normalized comp model, I likely won't even get a raise at promo since I already make above the threshold for an SM1 due to merit raises the last 2 years for vastly exceeding sales goals.
OP - first, congratulations on exceeding your goals. If you do make SR. Manager mid year, you'll have stronger exit opportunities to industry if you're not happy with your salary then. Also, if you're already meeting and exceeding your sales goals, wouldn't it be risky to leave to another consulting firm? The move might shake up your current trajectory i.e. You lose your current network, would have to start all over at another firm.
I was in a similar spot - was a consultant and up for promotion to Manager at Accenture. Was going to make it too, but I decided to switch to Deloitte as an SC. Lost my network. Had to start from scratch. The 10-15k raise I saw was not worth losing the network that I had. Although, I am loving Deloitte's culture so I don't regret my decision in hindsight but at your level, being so close to Sr Manager it would have been a different story
OP - if you're that good, then at SM you'll get equity awards.....
OP - but what ACN is saying is that progression and tenure = performance.
I would look at industry.
Thanks @D1. Appreciate the context...definitely not an easy call, and would have to be for the right opportunity. Keeping my options open, but to be honest, I'm pretty disappointed in ACN's comp strategy at this point. Seems they are moving away from compensating based on performance and instead basing comp on tenure. I'm concerned this is going to result in a lack of incentive to go above and beyond and may prove detrimental to overall firm quality.
OP, are you interested in staying in consulting for the long haul until you make MD/Partner?
@C1 fbburner53@gmail.com
I remember you posting about this two days ago... I wouldn't worry since nothing is official and they are still working out the system. Why don't you just keep up the good work and see what happens... Or else everyone would stop working and move to the Charlotte office but get paid the same as people in NYC/DC.
PwC DDV (M&A) practice is hiring directors.
OP - if you're already at the Sr Manager level, then I assume you've been there a while and are on a 'Partner track'. If you're already an MD, it will be difficult to jump right into a Partner equivalent position at another firm - especially if you've signed any agreements with Accenture.
If you're upset about salary, can you try renegotiating at the mid year review mark?
OP - I left for a boutique a few years ago and couldn't be happier. We are definitely hiring and I'd be happy to refer you. I am junior to you by one level though- if that makes you feel uncomfortable I def understand
Definitely interested! What firm?
Post a burner and I'll shoot you an email 👍
@D1, yes that's the plan...at least for now
@C1, would be interested in hearing what you like/dislike about the boutique life as well
