What’s the best position that mixes business and data science together? I like the technical aspect of DS (coding, algos, models..etc) but I don’t see myself being super technical. At the same time, I love to connect data to business and be on the strategic side of things however I don’t want to only be doing. What position would be best for someone who basically wants 50% DS & 50% Business?

Prepping for a CRO interview with the CEO of a smaller tech company (approx 70 employees) experiencing explosive growth. They want someone to run sales, alliances, & marketing, with heavy influence around product development so not really a traditional CRO role. Working on prep and curious if anyone has any ideas around questions I should be prepared to answer? Questions I should ask? I have some individuals that will not take actual vacations, they say, “I’ll have my laptop and phone”. My response is “please leave your laptop at home and turn off teams and outlook phone notifications. I’ve been a mid-level manager (Sr Operations Manager) for the last three years. Been in my industry for 10 years. I feel I have plateaued in my career path. I’m trying to promote to a Director of Operations role in house and looking at outside opportunities as well. I feel like it’s taken longer to obtain this position than my previous roles. Any advice from Sr/Exec Management to be more self aware and fill in the holes to finally hit the finish line?

I am a Senior Project Manager for a custom estate builder. We build homes over $50mm in construction costs for the ultra wealthy. I have been with this firm for 15 years and make $350K annual. There is only one partner and the sole proprietor who is essentially retired. They split ~$5MM in profits per year. I have reached the limit on title / career progression in my company - nowhere upwards to go. I highly doubt they will ever partner anyone else into the business. Do I leave?

Working my way up the corporate ladder. I have so many thoughts on leadership and want to initiate changes in the departments I work with. But at this level it's so difficult. Ppl are so resistant to change.

My key learning thus far in my career: Noone gives a shit about your ideas unless you're a head honcho. Real change is brought about from a position of authority.
