Just buy a new chair 🤷♀️
Do you two budget? Do you both know what you’re spending money on? Have planned goals you’re saving for?
On the surface it sounds like he’s not delivering a consistent message. The reasons could be endless though. As an example maybe he’s feeling guilty about eating out too often lately, but still wants you to at least have a somewhat decent chair, and he looks at a piece of furniture that will last 5+ years as being worth the money.
To me, it sounds like you both need a conversation to get on the same page.
Yes we budget and we both spend money on “wants” and “needs” it’s just hard to get him to buy something we really need bc I just don’t think he likes spending $$ in general which I understand but at the same time we make this much so we can live this lifestyle you know?

I have several. Office, home office, wife’s home office (she stole my first one)
Well I can see his point of view. Needs vs wants!!
You might spend too much money on wants, going out too often to eat or going out for drink or shoes, purses whatever.
But a new chair, specially for work, that is something you actually need, you don’t want a chair that will last a year or so, you want something that will last, a chair where you know you will spends hours a day and won’t wear quickly. So in my opinion I rather buy a 300 dollar chair that will last 3 years than buy 3 100 dollar chairs that only last 1 year.
These responses 😂
Which one of you making the chair recommendations is OP’s husband?
🤣🤣
There are certain things you can cheap out on and others that you should not. An office chair you might sit on for hours is not one of them. Neither is your mattress.
Agree we bought a king mattress as our wedding gift to each other haha
Herman Miller
Herman miller or steelcase. You cant go wrong w either brand. I suggest you go to the stores to try diff models out.
Steelcase definitely! I bought one from a used office furniture store for about 70% less than retail…
Ok I clearly should not get married bc I'm over here wondering why you haven't just bought the chair without his approval. It's an essential item and a bad one can wreck your health!
There are budget items and investment items. You just need to be aligned.

I use exercise ball as my office chair, helps with my posture and only $20ish 😆
Yes. Buy the nice chair and don’t tell him how much it cost. Once he’s realizes how nice it feels to sit in a real chair he’ll shut up. I just got a new x chair with a massage feature “for cheap” 😅
Good advice, it’s like Once we buy the thing and he actually sits in it and feels grateful that it is a nice chair he won’t care about the money haha 😆
