I got a remote L6 SWE offer at Google but the RSUs are too low for that level ($625k over 4 years), could not negotiate it higher. I’ve accepted the offer but trying to be hopeful that I could make it more equitable in the future if I perform well. Are stock refreshers based on the initial RSU grant or solely based on performance? Google

Sooner rather than later, especially if you have a strong network to reach back to. I simply reached out to a partner I had a good relationship with, we chatted, they hooked me up with HR, and essentially asked what I needed to come back.
Left Deloitte for 9 months for a 30% raise, came back for a 35% raise from where I was 6 months ago.
I think he meant 35 from D
Just put my 2 weeks in industry (after 6 months) and heading back to Deloitte. Left for 30% jump and returning with additional 20%. Definitely doable!
20% from your industry pay? Or 20% from your previous Deloitte pay?
And new firm's "small team" approach really just means I do everything in isolation and dont have any coworkers to bond/collaborate with. Preferred D's culture, but dont want to lose comp.
Am I missing something here? How is everyone able to boomerang so quick but get those kind of raises? Wouldn’t they hold the upper hand because they don’t have to let you back and why would you all of a sudden be worth that much more to them in such a short time period and especially if you’re the one crawling back?
Not in this economy. These consulting firms want/need us more than we need them.
Is boomeranging still easy if you want to join a practice that’s different than your old one? Still have a good relationship with the partner but the work isn’t interesting....wouldn’t know the new partner
Make the boomerang move soon - returning within 6 months will not break your service and it could take a while for the whole process.
