Monday thoughts- what was your last straw for leaving public accounting as a senior instead of waiting until manager?

Also has anyone left as a senior in PA to senior accountant in industry and still gotten into a manager type role within 1-2 years? People always make it seem like the path of going to senior accountant takes many years to move on to the next level

Big law for 8 years (litigation/antitrust) and have never enjoyed the work. It’s too late to try a new practice area and am thinking about either leaving the law or going in house. Any non law ideas?

I am java backend developer. I am selected in sas r&d pune where they are converting java microservices into golang microservices. I have no idea about golang. In frontend they are using react again I have no knowledge of frontend technology. What do you guys think will it be worth to switch to golang specially when I have no experience of it? Just finished my first year in audit. Recruiter reached out to me for a role with a 30% bump in salary. Total comp included it gets closer to 45%. I actually enjoyed my first year and especially being done with busy season now feeling pretty good. Not at all actively looking to leave, but just looking for advice on if I would be crazy for not pursuing an opportunity for so much more money at least a little further. What’s the word on Stax Consulting

I was in audit for about 4 years then switched to provisions. I’m now 7 years in and want a more steady schedule. I like the client aspect of public accounting, flexibility and mentoring/training younger associates, but feel pretty meh about tax in general. I’m not doing another busy season even if that means leaving without a job lined up. What does a person do in this situation?

How long does it typically take to transfer from one business line to another? Anyone with this experience? (Public accounting firm)

Can you get licensed as CFA with audit and financial due diligence experience? The 4 year requirement is a little broad and wasn’t positive.
