Where in Asia? It’s a big continent. You could get an Amex or HSBC card for the transition period, as they both work across markets. Then as your coworkers and find a bank you like when you get there.
Amex is not accepted everywhere. I lived in Hong Kong for a year and my corporate Amex did not get me too far. Visa was more useful.
Chase Sapphire Preferred has worked well for me traveling all over the world and has no foreign transaction fees, but there are a lot of cards like that. If you want extra travel benefits like lounge access, the Reserve can be worth the extra cost, especially if you don’t already have Global Entry.
