You could do a friendly check in and ask them if they need any help. You never know what people may be going through in their personal life. But beyond this - NO. Is it really necessary for you to risk undermining and pissing off your boss? Why not keep in your own lane, make sure your part is done, and let your boss do their job.
I wouldn't get involved. It's your boss's job to monitor others' work - not yours. You need to make sure your own work is of excellent quality and that means paying attention to your own work station and task list. If your co-worker is making multiple mistakes, it won't be long until the boss notices it, and if your boss can't/won't address it when the time comes, then SHE will be probably getting a visit from HER superior.
I'd be cautious about doing that. You don't want to be usurping your boss's authority. If your boss is afraid to address it, it's not your responsibility to step up.
Oooh that is honestly a tough spot to be in a I have been there. I have a coworker who is constantly screwing up and I have went to my boss many times and she doesn't like confrontation so nothing is being done about it. I have thought about going to her boss but I dont' want to undermine her.
