Damn D2 do you even consult bruh
In consultantspeak , CSR= Chase Sapphire Reserve. It's the card that lead to many FB posts last year!
CSR is 🐐
Btw, I love taking up points on my CSR for dining and travel spends
@A1 Literally first thing that came to mind was customer service rep 😂 I use delta Amex but have heard good things about yalls version of CSR
I assume you spend $300 minimum on travel costs, so with the $300 credit the effective fee is $150. CSR nets you $3 for every $100 you spend on eating out and traveling. Lets say your non-fee alternative nets you $1.5 per 100, taking into account rotating categories and whatnot. So you are getting $1.5 incremental in points from CSR for every $100 spent. So if you spend roughly $10k a year on restaurants and traveling, CSR would break even.
So worthnit
Chase sapphire reserve
At the very least downgrade to a Freedom Unlimited. Then signup for the CSP and get that bonus then downgrade to the plain Freedom. Consolidate UR points and enjoy.
There's always the plain Freedom which can be beneficial if you keep on top of the rotating categories.
I have the csr, freedom, and freedom unlimited. it's a solid combo.
@D2 it depends on your spending amount obviously. For typical consultants i would say that number could go either way. With the 50% redemption bonus, i would say its worth it.
@D2 could still be worth it depending on your personal situation/lifestyle. $5500 per year work travel + $1000 per year personal travel (vacations assuming 2 per year and 1 booked with points) = $3500 left to breakeven. That turns out to be around $70-75 a week to break even between eating out/bars/Ubering. Depending on how much you eat out and go out, it could still be worth it, especially since the work and personal travel estimates are lowballs imo ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
@S1 completely agree 😭
*raking
What is csr
Already downgraded my old csp to freedom unlimited when getting CSR
@strategy so you're saying it's shitty
AND there are other minor benefits but i would say another big thing is that you get 50% more from your UR points when you redeem for travel related booking from Chase. Sometimes but not always, the chase website has very comparable hotel or flight options to other popular portals, so in those instances CSR can immediately save you points worth hundreds of dollars. Of course sometimes better use of your UR points is a direct transfer to an airline for flight redemption but thats another topic.
It's worth it
