I got married in 2021. Before my wedding I lived in State#1 and after the wedding I moved to State#2. My spouse lived in State#2 the entire year.
Can I file as Married Jointly in such a way that State#1 only calculates my income for the portion of the year I lived there?
Or do I need to file Married Seperately?

Tomorrow they are requiring masks again and I was almost in tears when I found out. We have been mask free (recommended) since June and I feel like we are being muzzled again. Who is still in denial about a housing correction? The Fed just made another .75% increase. Powell said they won’t stop until inflation is 2%. He also said a recession would be better than the consequences of unchecked inflation. He announced he will bring rates to a “restrictive level” until “the job is done”. He said that labor demand needs to soften (ie: layoffs). He very explicitly said he wants to slash demand and that housing needs a “correction”.

In process of buying a house, both my surveyor and specialist damp contractor found damp under kitchen tiles (In the grout) & in skirting boards and up one wall. Sellers had work done initially in 2014 on the wall only(with garuntee) & their company has visited and assured there is no damp… what is next best course of action, get another damp specialist to examine independently of other reports? I don’t trust them….. (U.K. Victorian terrace, damp is in the kitchen extension built circa. 15 y/o)
