My sister told me I gained a lot of face fat during quarantine and that really hurt my feelings. I’ve gained 20 pounds in quarantine but actively try to take care of myself, unlike her. I workout, eat healthy, drink water. She’s always naturally been skinny and gets to eat whatever she wants and literally never works out. I just feel shitty that she said that to me. Am I being too sensitive?

Maybe a little but no one likes to be told that. Don’t be too hard on yourself. If you’ve gained 20 pounds so what? It sounds like You’re active and rise to meet every day with energy. That’s something to be proud of!

She will hit an age at some point where the metabolism isn’t the same and it’s not as easy to stay thin...
just remember her “luck” in those areas is temporary. Keep doing you and shrug it off. It was mean but it is obviously based on a deeper thing in her which is about this history of comparison and needing to make you feel worse to make her feel better (I bet there are times you’ve done the same to her but in different ways over other issues).

That’s mean. Weight is always a sensitive topic, I’d rather not bring it up. My grandma is always quick to comment on me being fat or losing weight tho, and gosh I hate it

When someone tells me bad news regarding their health, I say everything I am supposed to say (I’m sorry to hear that, I’m here for you, etc) EXCEPT “everything is going to be ok”. I’ve been depressed for years now and this past week I lost a dog I’ve had for 15 years; he was one of the only bright spots in my life and I’ve just found it so hard to focus or motivate myself on anything after this. I’ve been going through it this month. Was on Buspirone for 4 weeks which caused a n of depression. Now I just started Zoloft and I’m feeling extra anxious and hypersensitive. One of my colleagues made fun of an idea I suggested and I’m taking it way more seriously than I should. How did your journey go to get on meds and adjust to them? I hate feeling so up and down.

However, my mom is abroad for 2 months so it’s just my siblings and they can’t cook so they’ve been using my card for doordash. I think there are days when they spend $100+/day.
