Hi fishers! I have offer and signed contract with Deloitte UK and my start day is in the beginning of April. I need skilled worker visa, and we haven’t applied yet for that. Screening and onboarding is in progress. Immigration team doesn’t reply since reached me out 1st time. How much time does it usually needed to go through the whole process? How many days take for visa to be approved since application?Deloitte

Do it. You never know what can happen. I worked in ICU, you’d be surprised what takes people out and how the lack of legal documents wreaks havoc on those who are left behind.
One guy’s view: Older people have an inflated perception of the risk of flying — probably because air travel was slightly more dangerous and far less common 50 years ago. You more or less incur the same risk of death in your daily life as you will on this trip. The ridiculous thing is that you going on a trip should have no bearing on whether or not you have a will that clearly names guardians. It does makes sense to have this written out. It does NOT make sense that it needs to be done by tomorrow just because of this trip, although it probably should have been done yesterday. It’s your matter to handle though, and in my view not really your FIL’s business to be the one to force the issue. All of that said, it’s a worthwhile thing to do eventually — so maybe not worth the fight and worth just putting in writing before the trip, assuming you and your spouse agree on guardianship.
You are wise. Thanks for taking the time to write out an excellent response. Definitely not a hill to die on!

Do you have a will? Guardianship should already be defined there. If you don’t, get an f-ing will.
Heck you can do that tonight and get it notorized tomorrow and be done with it. Some states don’t even require the notary for a will so could theoretically be done without that step.
"Living Will"
There’s a few online services that make it easy. You just print it out after that and get it notarized. Trust & Will comes to mind.
I did this before my wife and I took a trip and the research led me to discover a lot of things that I didn’t know before.
One of the most jarring ones was that you can’t leave your insurance policies to your kids. They have to be 18 to receive the benefit and if not it won’t be released. You need to designate it to a trust.
The conversation spawned a lot of family politics that we frankly have still never fully sorted out.
The other thing you should leave with the in-laws or whoever is watching your kids while out of town. Is a consent to trraat. That allows them to make medical decisions for you kids if they can’t reach you. Even if it’s minor most doctors won’t treat. https://eforms.com/images/2017/08/Minor-Child-Medical-Consent-Form.pdf
