Need job advice:

I recently got an offer at a prestigious company making almost double what I make now (OTE). It is also a promotion on the job title which will help for long term career prospects.

The only downfall is I also have a final round interview with literally my dream job later this week.

The company who gave me the offer wants an answer before Thanksgiving. Do I take the good offer and run with it? Or do I roll the dice at the chance at my dream job?

Take the offer as I’m guessing you would put in a two weeks notice or give them a further out start date. Interview with your dream job and if you get an offer let the first company know you received a better offer and see if they can up the pay or not

like

Take the good offer and continue interviewing for your dream job. Try to delay your start date to give you some time to finish the interview process.

Once/If you get an offer from your dream job and it's what you actually expect it to be, then you can turn down the company that gave you the good offer.

Don't feel bad about doing this. It's business.

like

Take the good offer and still interview at your dream job. For all you know the offer on the table for your dream job could be horrible…or maybe they don’t want you. One thing I know for certain though is no one wants a fresh new employee who is full of regret due to a path not taken.

Did you let them know?

Hi all. I just applied to a ''Strategic Partner Lead, News, Large Partner Solutions'' at Google (Canada). I was relatively confident as I think my background is pretty much a perfect fit, but I should have asked for a referral first. Is it too late to get a referral if I already applied? Is a referral pretty much a sine qua non condition to get an interview?
Thanks!

Has anyone had good matches/success when using a Recruiting Agency? I’m debating if I should use one on my current job hunt got myself.

In the past, when I was used a couple of a agencies for our hiring, it was a pretty rough experience. Mostly there was a big disconnect between what we told the recruiters we were looking for (in writing, in person & over the phone) & what the job was, and what the recruiters told the candidates. It was really frustrating on both ends.

I’m going to be making an exit soon to a company that’s working hard to recruit me in. I’m in an AE position. I’d be forfeiting $18k in RSUs vesting, President’s club, and $200k+ in pipeline if I do move. I’m inclined to leave because this would be a step up in a role and I really like the team.

My question is: is it reasonable to ask for a $40k sign on bonus to account for what I’m leaving here? How do you go about negotiating that?
