I received a job offer today as a commercial real estate Portfolio Manager II for $110,000 base salary, 10,000 signing bonus and 15% annual bonus pro-rated. I have 8 years of commercial real estate experience in different areas ranging from closing, client relations and currently AVP of client relations. This position is in the Scottsdale, AZ area. Any suggestions of how much I should counter?

Learned on the day of the deadline to enroll, that my partner's employer offers voluntary participation on a deferred compensation plan. First time I hear of such a benefit/option after working for years! Any general (i.e. not plan-specific) lessons-learned, gotchas, pointers to offer as we will have to quickly decide to enroll or not?

My partner and I are in the process of buying a PHEV that qualifies for the full non-refundable federal tax credit. Finally got major client signed. Got high-fives from CEO who’s already marketing said major client. Can’t get finance to approve freelance needed to actually do the work.

Will the lawsuit against DMA force the victims to come forward? It’s the only way DMA will not end up in serious trouble. I’ll bet that Ted Royer and the rest of the DMA targets will follow.
