Need help deciding if this offer is worth moving for. Received an offer from Booz Allen Hamilton for an Associate level Sr. Systems Engineer in Los Angeles for $135k base. I countered $150k and a $15k singing bonus and asked if I could be brought on as a lead associate since I've been a lead/manager for a while in my current company.
Current company TC: $125k in Utah.
YOE: 7 with M.S. and MBA
Is the switching cost/risk and higher COL worth it?

You get your respect on the 1st and 15th. Always have.
In my experience, making a certain salary gives one a much more solid confidence to require that much and more in future roles, as opposed to having a certain title and asking for $X more because of said title.
You generally have sufficient experience and impact to command a certain if you've been successful in a particular role for a while, regardless of the title.
That having been said, there are careers such as consulting and engineering where a given title maps to a particular point in career progression and salary rage, and in those situations important not to backslide too far in title, though you are also less likely tonbe offered more money for a title that doesn't make sense.
I see title as sort of like an option on a future job - not immediate benefit but a significant future benefit under some circumstance.
Beyond that the responsibilities do matter (obviously so does money). I’d rather have a job that pays a little less but where I have a lot of freedom to make decisions than a higher paying one where I take orders. Ditto for flexibility on work hours / location.
Glad you got enlightened. Cash in!
