Hi fishes,
Any guess how many people are laid off from Publicis sapient in past few days? Really scared for my future as I'm also under probation period and deeply regret for my choice of joining this firm...I don't understand why were they recruiting peeps when they were short of projects. Publicis Sapient

Other firms are better at communicating and managing their people. Acn gave you 2-4 weeks on the bench so you could find another role. PwC just sucks. I don't know why more people haven't see this. S u c k
Btw - Deloitte gave most canned folks 8 weeks salary + lump sum of PTO. Not great but at least gives you sometime to look around! During that time you are still on the payroll and legally employed by Uncle D!
Obvs mck is pretty good about it since all their alums rehire them... ACN historically hasn't fired that many and does a good job
PwC is light years behind well established firms such as MBB acn and uncle d in terms of leadership quality, people management, and overall firm management.
I feel like most people don't do it over the phone or continue to lie about the financial situation. They layoffs here are not only hurting the people let go, but scaring the shit out of the people who are still here
Never heard of any layoffs happening at ZS outside of the occasional person getting managed out
Lmao OP I would have killed for that 8 week buffer...
ACN gave a severance package, paid out all PTO and kept some on health benefits. The severance package and benefits depended on how long you had been with the firm of course, but the least amount of time I heard was 10 weeks. If you had stock, you of course got that too.
Paying out PTO is legally required and not a severance perk.
BCG doesn't do any broad layoffs. Only individuals per the up-or-out and that process is usually pretty lenient.
Ha we didn't give any weeks salary I don't think. Lmfao
I had a very humane layoff in 2009, but that was rare.
I heard severance at ACN was 1 week per year worked
It's not. Read your benefits fine print. It's 2 weeks plus a week for every year of service. 4 weeks plus 1 for every year for managers and above.
We got 1 week per year or 2 weeks minimum. At least that was what I was told, but I heard about some recent campus hires getting 3 weeks
D2- even if you resign?
How do we figure out how much 1 day of PTO is worth and when it is laid out, is it taxed at the same rate as your salary?
I misspoke. It is required in 24 states (link below)@. But most national companies like ours do it in every state. D1 I can't confirm how it's taxed. I'd assume bonus to be conservative. I do worry if you don't know how to figure what a day of pto is worth. Sorry if that's harsh, but here's a start: Salary/2080 is your approx hourly wage. https://www.workplacefairness.org/final-pay#3
D2- thanks. Sorry, I am bouncing between a bunch of things and of course that makes sense. I've been dealing with so many different contract rates lately that I was confused. I have actually done this calculation before. Forgive me and thank you for the clarification
Lots of companies are better at it
