NYC Moms, I need your advice! I’m at a loss as to how to find an after school sitter for my kids. Everyone I find seems to be a nanny looking for full day hours. The hours I need would be 3-6 M-F, so thinking this might be hard for a college/grad student, and I’m hesitant to ask a high schooler…how have you found your sitters? TY!

I know this isn’t a marriage therapy bowl, but my husband has a really terrible tendency of saying things like “you’re being really mean” and completely shutting down during a disagreement when i objectively am not being mean, just truthful or vocal about how i feel about something. It’s a really convenient argument for him because it enables him to either be the victim and me the villian, or forces me to concede my stance and not reach a true resolution. I just wanted to reach out and let you all know I understand how tired and beat down we all feel at this point in the year. I’m feeling it too. I also know exactly how students can try us. What I’m working on every day though is to see my kids as God does… not the kids that know how to push buttons and drive me crazy, but as the beautiful lives they are, all deserving of the best we can give them every day.
