One year into my post doc and I absolutely love my current work life. The projects are great, and my boss is phenomenal. But I just got rejected for the NIH F32 which I sort of used as my “can I make it in academia” litmus test. I don’t want to get stuck in the academic revolving door or be the perpetual postdoc etc. What are some experiences from those who transitioned to industry (specifically big pharma)? Is it worth leaving an enjoyable postdoc for if I don’t foresee an academic track?

I trained on .net and then after I supported .net application. After 3 years I got to work on ssrs reports. We build reports from scratch in ssrs, then I worked on qlik view application. Attended training on qlik sense. My question is for which openings/certificate I have to look .net (I have only support knowledge) or reporting tools like ssrs, qlik view ? I am struggling to choose with the way to upgrade myself.

Here is my idea for a startup! I collect all the data from career transitions and use Data Analytics to predict the most likely career transitions. I could start with consulting. What do you guys think about this? I would be able to predict based on your firm(mbb, big4), your experience, which role you are likely to move (Faang pm, strategy manager, move to mbb). I have all the data to do this, but wanted your thoughts. Would the output of this be relevant to you?

I’ve been approached my by company that one of our large clients (who im currently project managing for) is looking for a consultant of sorts, and if they hire us, I’d be the first person asked to take on this consultant role.
