Hi there - I was approached for a role at PwC Dubai. Wondering if anyone can share salary + benefit expectations for Senior Associate/Senior Consultant and Manager level? Unclear if it’s for PwC or Strategy& right now.. I figure salary varies significantly, so insight on both would be greatly appreciated. It would be healthcare consulting if that helps. Thanks!!

Pros/cons of Capco Consulting?
Honestly I prefer no per diem. I don't think about the bill at all, spend usually right up to a per diem limit and can easily go over for dinners, etc.
Alcohol ruins it for me. One glass of wine at a restaurant is what I would spend on a bottle at the grocery store. So if I get two glasses that’s $30 there already. I only order it maybe one night a week but still! Hard habit to kick when you’re working late😕
Sounds like a win to me
$41? Sheesh
If you really wanted, you could do about $12 a day eating solely McDonald’s patties (about $1.50 each)
Of course it’s possible to save money on the Accenture per diem if you really wanted to, but $40-45 is absurd. I had a similar per diem previously and as soon as I started eating healthier/better tasting $10-15 breakfast sandwiches/smoothies instead of horrible hotel breakfast + maybe 2 coffees a day + $10-15 lunch + $15 dinner I went over almost every day. What I’ve described there should not be over budget when the company is making thousands off of me.
Congrats!
There are advantages and disadvantages of ACN per diem vs. Deloitte per diem (for example), however, I feel that I eat well week in and week out, yet I have consistently made money.
Same I get 55. I don't eat any more than I normally would if I go out for lunch and dinner. 10dollsr lunch give or take and like a 15 to 20 dollar dinner, sometimes little more sometimes less. Meh
How much did you spend on eating? (Important information).

We get 50 bucks for dinner, 15 for breakfast (which honestly becomes lunch for most of the folks), and breakfast is often covered by concierge lounges.
That’s great if you don’t work in high cost cities...I work mostly in the Bay Area or New York and per Diem wouldn’t work well
Typical of ACN folks who make plenty but will go grocery shopping and bring a lunchbox to the client site. I enjoy my $50-100 dinners and not needing to think twice about what something costs
I totally agree that there are advantages and disadvantages. I would definitely eat better if I had use it or lose it per diem. However, my point is that with my habits, I’ve been eating well and making money. For one, I get $30 per diem for traveling Monday night, but I eat at home before I leave. I get hotel breakfast every day, which is admittedly mediocre, but I honestly wouldn’t go anywhere else. My lunch varies around $15. For dinner, I’ve usually done something quick like chipotle, smoothie king, or a fast food Mediterranean place. I’ve managed to stay fit and healthy doing this.
Not luxurious by any means, but acceptable and convenient for me.
Bottom line - I’m not arguing that Accenture per diem is better. Not at all. I’m arguing that it doesn’t totally suck the way a lot of accenture people claim it does.
For me specifically, it’s great because I’m not a foodie. I’m perfectly happy grabbing a quick smoothie king dinner and going back to the hotel rather than going out to a sit down dinner.
That said, I do sit down dinners sometimes. Probably every other week (~$40 each time).
I don’t personally feel that I’m denying myself much. The only thing I would do better is perhaps breakfast. I think I would ball out on breakfast if I had use it or lose it per diem.
So your point is that the per diem policy is not great and that most people - including yourself - would like to spend more on some of your meals. But overall you’re coping because you’re in a somewhat low cost location and are not into food. That’s a good result of this thread.
If I was charging actual though, I'd probably make the effort to go out and try the nice stuff
D1 we are supposed to charge actuals and on AMEX. You are saying you charge more but spend less and pocket the difference?
You are welcome to the club of realization going on for years and years. Enjoy that non-tax weekly stipend.
That's like perdiem level budget, but don't get to keep the leftover?
