Hello fishes,
I have a background in finance and 6+ YOE of professional work experience, I had to leave CA in between due to family emergency and started working (although only 1 group of CA final is left, 1 is cleared already), so can anyone provide an insight if being CA qualified is a mandatory requirement in EY and EY GDS in position of Manager in Accounting, auditing,FAAS,AWM teams etc
Would appreciate any insight, as seems HR everywhere just see degree and not the relevant work ex..

Why do you need any certifications if you want to leave public? If a certification will help you get the job you want or if it’s required then go for it, but otherwise I’d say put your energy elsewhere.
Get a hobby
Your hobby can be watching Netflix
Figure out what you WANT to do prior to getting the certification. No use in wasting time getting a certification and not having it work in your favor down the road.
Go get a computer science masters
Comp Sci (really coding and all that) never really clicked with me. I liked discussing popular science and tech and took a course on some of the social dilemmas with technology and advancement, but getting into finer things like programming never really worked.
In the same position. Don’t even want another certification but I’ve been in study/grind mode for so long it feels like I should parlay it into another good use of my time

I don’t think a CFA is that helpful unless you’re already in a finance type role. An MBA is only worth it if you know what you want to use it for, and if it’s from a top school. MBAs from non target schools are not worth it from an ROI perspective. Honestly if you don’t know what you want to do take a year to figure it out. Don’t stress out you have time
This question is way too broad. It depends entirely on what you want to do. Makes it sound like you want the credential just to have it. No one cares if you have 5 acronyms after your name if they aren’t relevant to your profession.
CFA has always been my thought. Unless you want broader pivot options then I would say MBA
Think about what you want to get into before choosing CFA vs MBA. MBA is also more expensive and cannot be done part time as easily. CFA seems more prestigious but not a must for most jobs.
What? A top 10 MBA is way more prestigious.
