Bro that sh!t is hard. Let people be proud of themselves.
OP - But you’re seeking attention and praise for not announcing your accomplishments, how is this different?
I agree, LinkedIn has turned it a bragathon. Yes, passing the cpa is important, but in the grand scheme of things, no one cares. If you really want to thank people, message them personally, it will mean more than the novel you post on LinkedIn that they prob won’t even read the whole thing. I also think this goes for 90% of all the posts on LinkedIn not just cpa specific.
People should have a space to share their achievements and brag about them. It’s exciting and it’s good and healthy to be happy for other people. Being bitter and projecting complaints on social media is the real problem
Sound like you didn’t pass bud😂😂
I was happy as all hell when I passed and even happier when my license came. Cant believe the hate is that steep with some.

Imagine high school kids thanking everyone for scoring high on the SATs.

1300 on the old scale, I'm way older than you with that 2400 scale. lol. But yeah, I got into UCLA with 1300s.
Nevertheless, if you scored 2100 with literally 2 hours of study, congrats to you, that's genius level.
First, i want to thank God because without him, I wouldn’t be here. I also want to thank my mom and dad, because without them, I also wouldn’t be here (I wink to them from the stage). Next, I want to thank Peter Olinto (I say: “where’s my Starbucks gift card??” The crowd laughs) and then I thank the other old guy. I also want to the thank my 3rd grade teacher, Mrs. Albez, because, without her, I would have never found my Passion (say it with emphasis so all the partners hear it) for accounting. The CPA has been a life goal of mine, it has been my Mount Everest, and without you all, and the countless that I cannot name, I wouldn’t have been able to climb this mountain. I have reached my peak in life, and YOU ALL are the reason I am there. Thank you again! Here’s to my next Everest (end with a kissing peace sign).

Congratulations!
As they should! More important than the academy awards
I would like to thank my incredible team here at KPMG for enabling me with the tools needed to be successful and pass my CPA examination! As a first generation college student, and the daughter of two blue collar workers, I’m proud call KPMG my second family. I couldn’t have done it without KPMG blue behind me, and for that I’m incredibly thankful. Looking forward to an incredible future together!
I can’t imagine being this concerned with what other people are doing.

I love reading those “I can’t believe the fantastic opportunity to pursue my dream at *insert PA firm*, thank you so much to these people” posts. Makes me so happy to not be Gen Z

The same people go on the fish bowl and complain about comp and how underpaid they are. LOL
I can’t wait for my CPA post
Cringe
Leave them be! It IS an achievement, probably the first of many in their young career. Does it bother you that much that people are ecstatic about it? I get the same excitement if I found a $20 in my pocket unexpectedly would you judge me for it too? Why are you being salty! Just scroll down and carry on! There are enough cynics in this world. smh!
Seriously! That and starting their first job at a big4! 😵💫
It doesn’t.. I just don’t feel the need to tell everyone about my accomplishments .. also I don’t bring anyone down as I’m not commenting on any of their posts.. i just think it’s funny that people need to tell the world about every little thing that they do/accomplish!
Will never understand success shaming
Honestly, I love those posts. Do I find them a little over the top, and silly? Sure! However, I love the earnestness of them, particularly since the longer you stay in PA, often the more cynical you get. That’s why I love new hires and interns. Just let them be happy and excited!

Can't disagree there. New blood always brings out the best in people.
I passed it 5 years ago and I’m still celebrating. 🍻
Just let people celebrate their achievements lmao
Yes, we should encourage people to share their success and feel happy for them. It’s much better than reading people’s constant complaints, like this post.
Add bar exam brags to this as well lol.
They’re eager and earnest. I don’t mind a CPA exam passage acknowledgment. If LinkedIn was a thing when I passed the bar exam, maybe I would have done the same. As it was, we just celebrated with family not followers.
I am so proud to announce [insert brag here]. Not sure how I survived passing the exam before social media…..
