Have a former coworker that really really loves it. They have some crazy number of interviews like 6 or so to ensure fit
If by cut throat you mean back stabbing, no, definitely did not get that impression. If by cut throat you mean hard for promotions to come by, yes, definitely got the impression that promotions are not automatic, but granted neither are they in b4. Idk, the word meritocracy was used a lot which makes me think that quality of work matters as much or more than sucking up to partners like it is in b4. Work life balance, I think improves by default when you're on local projects and not traveling. Don't know anything about the travel practice but I can't imagine mon to Thurs schedule changes with the firm or magically gets better bc you're not in b4, the airline schedules are what they are.
What’s the motto? ‘Paid for a Strategy or implementation plan that doesn’t work? Don’t worry there’s Point B’
Good luck, OP! Their interviews are sequential so you have to make it thru 1 before they progress you to 2, etc.

Plan B
What exactly is their "fit" if you have some insight to it?
I guess I'm moreso looking for a place where i can stay in consulting and still be challenged while having an actual life. wondering if that's what Point B can offer.
‘Want all the glory without the Travel? Don’t worry there’s Point B’
OP, the coworker described the culture as more nerdy or intellectual rather than the borderline alcoholics or fratty of some other consultancy cultures. Low travel if you're based in Seattle and choose to not be in the travel practice. Maybe that's an or statement not an and. But Seattle is there big hub obviously.
Do you happen to know if it's as cut throat as Big 4 culture and about their work life balance?
Thanks so much EY for the insight! If it's as great with work life balance as i see in all these articles I've read online, def interested in pursuing a career with them. Tired of killing my health and life over work.
Thanks, EY1! If you or your friend know of any ways to prepare or even get a better shot at an interview, I'd love to get any further insight. Thanks for all the help thus far, much appreciated!
