Who here has been fired? How did you bounce back?

I was part of the tech layoffs over the past couple of weeks. I have an opportunity to go back in house or back to a law firm. Both are great opportunities and comparable comp. Pro of law firm - stability (less likely to be laid off). Pro of in house - no billable hours. Should I ride out the recession at a law firm until things settle down or take the risk and go back to in house?

Have you ever fired anyone? If so, why did you do that? And do you regret doing so?

For all fired this year, do you put on your background check (for a job offer) that you were discharged? Heard EY doesnt share if you were fired or resigned, so am wondering what others are putting...

Have a big interview tomorrow. The question I dread the most is about why you’re looking for a new job. The honest answer is that there isn’t enough work to go around at my agency and I want to get ahead of the inevitable layoffs. What’s the best way to tell them this? Do I just make something else up entirely?

Felling pretty depressed about being laid off. But then my $350 unemployment check came in the mail and took my depression to a whole new level.

When hired as an athletic coach, does your position state “temporary?” Even if coached at the same school for several years.. It doesn’t make sense to me that coaches are year-to-year. Doesn’t help athletes. Since the CSEA got it approved that classified employees need to go through the same steps as certificated employees, regarding layoffs. LACOE wants to have coaches not be considered classified or certificated, just temporary. With no Union, no voice, no respect, no appreciation, no rights.

Is Visa expected to have any layoffs due to the recession? Asking b/c I have a small workload.

Shadow fired from v25 firm job today (2nd year associate/Class of 2019) - given 3 months to find a new job.

Somewhat blindsided, but firm seems supportive in helping me catch on somewhere. Had my struggles, but feel like I can still cut in big law if I'm given another opportunity. Any advice/words of encouragement would be welcomed.

Was unexpectedly laid off after giving a startup 150% effort. Feeling pretty down and anxious given that I just moved into a new apartment — my rent increased drastically given how terrible the housing market has been in nyc (this occurred even though I moved out of Manhattan)… would appreciate any words of encouragements or kindness — feelings of imposter syndrome have been putting salt in the wound. My entire career, I’ve been referred to as outspoken, “feisty,” etc. and TBH I’m over it. I’ve watched men behave the same way, but they’re never called out or reprimanded. Quite the opposite.

FORM50 fitness? Anyone familiar with them? Looks kind of like power Pilates. They only have a New York (Astoria) studio and a Miami studio. Seems like most of the classes are mostly women, and hot pink themes all around. 🏳️‍⚧️🙋🏻‍♀️ and on hrt for about 18 months, so not presenting full time yet. Whether I present female or male, it’s not an environment I’m likely to pass super well in so wondering about how lgbt welcoming it will be. Also if the workout is as lit as people seem to represent.

Hello! just got an offer from Amazon for Global Product Marketing Manager for PAE (payments).
TC: $223k for 1st year (156k base, $64k sign on for 1st year and $50k for second year, with 46 shares - vesting 5% on 1st year anniversary, 15% on 2nd year and 20% every 6months on 3rd and 4th year).
I understand this is a L6 role and would like to understand where I am in the total comp range (from a %) and what is the max this role and level and pay (given that I understand next salary jump to L7. Tx!
