Hi All,
I joined Tech Mahindra for 5 days only and didn't find suitable timing for my project and emailed resignation mail to manager and HR. After that HR asked me to resign over portal but at the same time blocked my portal. After requesting many times they didn't unblock my portal and pretended like they want to unblock but there is some issue going on and marked my profile absconded. I have cleared fnf but they are not providing reliving letter but added pf amount also. What to do?

It was normal when I worked at PwC. And it’s fine in my opinion. You are working for a client on a break day… so you get complementary off on a different day at that clients expense. Also this isn’t the hill you should die at unless that holiday time off was really important to you

FY beginning was July 1. There’s no reason to move the revenue timing, and even if there were the answer is charge the partner’s PD code, not the holiday code. You should never charge the holiday or vacation codes when you’re working.
Not normal
Don’t do this. Tell the partners you don’t feel comfortable moving time and are happy to double check with ethics and compliance if the partners think it’s okay

Doesn’t matter. It’s not the working over the holiday that’s the major issue, it’s charging the holiday code.
I will say I know some senior partners who are clueless on the admin front and absolutely would not realize that our timekeeping systems allow you to charge the holiday code on a non-holiday. So it’s possible their thought process stopped at the fact that it would be a wash for you and for the engagement code either way.

I don't get what the harm is of complying here. You get time off later, so it's a wash right?
P1…. “Harm of following the firm policy”… easy for you to say but not so much so for staff to tick off a partner for no good reason. There are plenty of examples where firms are slightly flexible with the policy.
As for “why”… ask the partners. It’s far too common for partners to make this ask so perhaps you might have a better understanding of the why 🤷🏻♂️
OP is staff and this request, apparently from a senior partner, comes from a leader who he works with. In the REAL world he would be better off being flexible unless he has other constraints. After all it’s a relationships business.
I remember one time I was little short of meeting utilization metrics during a promotion year and a partner found project “code” to “staff” me on. Happens both ways.
Just do what you feel like. Is it a policy breach - definitely. Is it the norm - hopefully not. Do others also do it - definitely yes. Should you do it - do what works for you.
Maybe.
