i read some motivational broscience meme about how it takes like 6 weeks for you to notice results and 3 months for other people to notice results. maybe youâre not training at that kind of pace, but keep at it and the results will come. if they donât come and you start to plateau, adjust your regimen
A lot of stomach weight is really due to diet. You might be bloated, more than anything. Try cutting dairy, grains, sugars, etc. I look significantly different in my stomach depending how my diet is, even if the scale doesnât change
Congrats on the achievement! How long has it been? Results donât always quantify in waist size. You may have a propensity to store excess fat around that area. One good way to know is to look at your close family members and parents. Where they tend to store fat if they have any, may be your problem areas when trying to lose weight.
-used to run a gym
Yâall are the best. Appreciate all the advice! Seriously, this was super helpful and gave me a lot of hope
Youâre welcome! Donât sweat it (pun intended), as long as the results are coming then itâs just a matter of time before it starts coming off your waist too. Also, spot training is not going to be more effective. You should be incorporating core exercises as well as a total body regiment in your overall exercise plan. I want to leave off on some important words of wisdom: being healthy is a lifestyle not a race. Itâs important to keep sustainability in your approach so you donât gain the weight back because, unfortunately, time is not on our side when it comes to metabolism. Good luck and kick butt :)
Thanks! Itâs been about two months. Yeah my old man has a similar build. So it just takes longer to lose that fat? Much appreciated!
Add more Cardio to regime. (2-3x a week)You can either run or walk. I like to walk at a 3.5-4.5MPH with a 9-12 incline.
Also look into tighten up your core. Helps with waist. Not a fan of crunches and such. Look into Pallof Presses, Hanging Leg Raises, side med ball slams things that really challenge your core.
Burpees. 100 per day for a month. You are welcome.
The point that no one here has made yet is that it is impossible to burn fat in a specific area. Your body stores it where it decides to store it and burns it where it decides to burn it...sit ups donât burn stomach fat...itâs just going to come off where it comes off. The only way to get those inches off the waist is to keep losing...eventually fat will come off hips/butt/lower abdomen, but if thatâs a stubborn area for you, it may take awhile.
