It’s not even so much about hiring or not, but I think this pandemic DOES AND WILL give recruiters even more excuses to think or say “how can I be focused on responding to emails with all of this is going on? “

Did your salary freeze when you went on mat leave? (I.e. if you got a raise/promotion while on mat leave, it’s not effective until after you come back to work). I heard this has to do with short-term-disability insurance companies. They only pay your salary/rate at the time you start leave. But I feel like the employer should make up for the difference. I mean, why do you have to be paid less just because you are on mat leave. Thoughts?

I am almost 32, been w my partner for years & want kids eventually. In a perf world, we’d start trying at about 35 or so. I want to get a promotion before any leave & think I’m on path to achieve that by ~35. If willing to share, I’m looking to hear experiences w freezing your eggs (for better or for worse). A few friends had fertility problems, unsuccessful IVFs, & now I’m paranoid. I know everyone is different & I’m not looking for med advice, but would like to hear others’ experiences on this

14 months into my first agency job and I’ve been told from my CDs that I’ve been recommended for a raise. What should I ask for? I’m making 58k now and have had a bunch of work produced.

I just got promoted over a friend and I am really worried about how this will impact her. To be honest I think she is even more deserving of the promotion than me. What do I do to make it better so our friendship isn’t poisoned by this?

If you’re a Democrat would you vote for a Republican, just because now they’re raising taxes, etc?
