Remember how you didn’t buy the dip when Covid started in March 2020 and always regretted it?

Well… chances are that you won’t buy into this dip either. I guess that’s just how we are…

There is really no need to bottom fish. Consistency is key to investing. Anyone who has been consistent in their investment process doesn’t really need to try to time the dips…it just doesn’t work.

If you have 70% in stocks (typically mutual funds) and 30% in cash equivalents (typically GICs or Money Markets), then the boom in the market turned your portfolio into something like 80% and 20%. Just rebalance. 😉

Today the dip is getting interesting 🧐

The dip right now is not that big

Hello all, I'm a very green attorney, never tried a single case or even was second or third chair, but managed to land a litigation associate position at a Plaintiff's firm. Does anyone remember their first trial? How did you feel and how did it turn out by comparison? Anything you wish you did differently?
I know in THEORY what the process of trials are but thanks to COVID I haven't been able to observe them in real life so I'm very nervous for the day I finally enter a courtroom.

What do you all do to make non-professional / personal connections? Particularly with the Coronavirus, and being in domestic relations, I wake up, go to work, work out, go home. So outside of law, my interactions with people are only at the gym given that my area is draining— particularly at the moment. Probably a good thing for now; but if we take coronavirus out of the equation, I’m interested what others in the community do to develop personal connections.

Doctor rec’s? I was in DC before and I used to go to Whitman Walker, an LGBT focused primary care clinic, clean, efficient and friendly, and they understood the LGBT needs, like PrEP, very well, which is mainly what I need from my PCP. Is there such a thing in NYC?

Anyone a manager? I’m recently diagnosed (26F) and I can’t help but beat myself up everytime I fall short of my to do list. Makes me feel like a huge disservice to my team. I’ve been trying vitamin D and working out, but it makes my “highs” and “low” SO extreme. The simplest things are so complex in my mind.

If anyone feels similar, how do you manage these feelings? I’m personally considering switching to an individual contributor role, but can’t help but feel like a disappointment if I do.

We live in a cheap apartment ($1.3k) that is sh*tty. Don’t quite have a down payment (especially not in ATX). Is it dumb to rent a house for a year at $3k/month while we save up again?

I’d like some independent views please, on a financial decision my wife and I are about to make. We’re looking to buy our first/dream home and the property is valued at $1.25m. We have savings of $250k and our HHI is c$350k, with no debt. We will probably exhaust our savings on the deposit and closing costs. A $1m with mortgage at 6% with property taxes is c$8k/month. We net about $14k, we think it’s just about manageable, however keen to get your views please? More context in comment below.

I am starting personal investment now- please tell me if this plan looks good:
- Already have a 401k plan with max matching form my employer
- invest in 5000$ in S&P ETF
- invest 5000$ each in AAPL, AMZN, GOOGL,MSFT
- invest 1000$ each in Netflix, ADP and Home Depot
- invest 500$ each in Intel, Nike,Walmart and T-Mobile
- small amounts 100-500 in Merck, GE, Coca Cola , Altria and Samsung.

Thoughts? I plan to invest a little bit each month (200$) in ETF. Any suggestions?

No crazy luck in crypto or investments. Just basic saving, 401k, ESPP and low expenses. Next step is to start investing by myself and taking some risks!!!

I had a baby almost a year ago. I should start a 529 account for my child but I am originally from France which also makes her a French citizen and she could easily go to college in France for not much money. Thanks so much!
