Well title is more about ego and maybe money is more important but you shouldn’t always think of the money right now but the money you will be making in 5 years 10 years when you retire. The title is only important if you can use that to get better pay raises or means you can have a greater upward career path. If not then its not important and if the company you are working for is greater then I would take lesser title and work on getting the title at the other company and have more money and other benefits
Omg, Bob Loblaws is real???
A recruiter reached out to me last year about an open ‘CD’ position with a cosmetic dental company. One person creative team… mostly posting on Facebook and creating digital POP. Salary was shockingly high for the actual duties. If it was remote I would have tried to as a side job.
Generally agree, but a deflated title can make it more difficult to stay on the right salary trajectory as you move between companies. Or even within the same company - if you come in as the highest paid CD, you might not see a raise for as many years as it takes to get promoted.
But if you come in high enough you’re already offsetting 🤪
Yes.
The Golden State Warriors are looking for an ECD with a starting salary of 89k. Titles have become meaningless.
Fair.
💯 I’d be the VP of toilets & personal sanitation for 1M a year. Actually, that’s negotiable. Who cares. + most titles I see these days are self assigned and pretty meaningless.
It's meh ;)
Give the $$$and call me what you want
So many BS titles nowadays… only money means what is your value
Salary + work you’re genuinely excited about. Title can come later. Unless your goal is to impress industry people.
Titles only matter when trying to get a bigger salary. It's a job, folks, it's all about the money. I wish I could take a 500k job as junior creative.
Senior with 3 years of experience, CDs with 5. Yeah title don't mean shit.
$$
Show me the monayyyy.
🤑🤑🤑…although come to think of it I don’t have either🧐
100%
Call me whatever you want, titles have changed so much over the years that they no longer matter. $ is better than any title you can make up.
Agreed - you can call me a Junior Associate for the rest of my career as long as you don’t pay me Junior Associate money
Money is better! But as creatives, we want to produce great work. Having the title move things forward. No one listens to a designer, and everyone reacts to a creative director. Especially at Apple! Don’t get me started on gender and race.
Can’t pay the bills with a title.
💯
No question.
