Senior finance associate here. I don’t care that many of the finance clients I serve are younger than me. But there is this one particular analyst that emails and talks like an MD (“pls fix tks”, etc). I know… this is not any real issue. Just my pet peeve.

Whenever I'm assigned work from this associate I think I understand what he's asking for but it turns out I don't give him what he wants. It only happens with this one associate. Tips?

My manager scheduled a feedback conversation and I know it's bc I've made some noticeable mistakes lately due to moving too fast, not being able to focus, racing thoughts, etc. I'm seeing a therapist about whether I have ADHD and if so, what tx looks like; we started the intake process which will be continued in my 2nd appointment, which is after the feedback convo meeting. I recently lateraled into Big Law. Most of my colleagues are homegrown. My shift did involve a big change in practice area, and there's work that I haven't done before that I now have to do.

But, sometimes I feel stupid here, even for work which I have done previously. It's like I'm unable to understand instructions the first time around. And I have seen my colleagues getting annoyed by that. It's like I've become dumb. In my defence, I could say they're giving half assed instructions.
