Senior Manager gives me a poor rating at the end of the project (affecting my metrics and benefits) and only months later the client specially requests me to be back on for the next phase.

I hope you learned the tough lesson that client satisfaction alone does not translate to success as a consultant.

like

I am sure that hurts. In general FWIW, I have seen clients’ bar to be much lower than consulting companies. I got offered a position at a client in my first month of a staff aug role while people at my firm think I was not good enough to get promoted to the next level.

like

And why did you get a poor rating? The fact that the client likes you does not clearly indicate that you managed the project well, that teammates enjoy working with you, that the budget was met, that team morale was good, etc.

Hello, I wanted to mention that I work as a sports commentator, specifically about soccer. I used to be one of the main journalists for Spanish media, but since I moved to Miami I feel the general passion for soccer is very different 🥲 The energy and commitment are not even close to what I felt in Spain, where some businesses would close if the match was too important. I hope this nostalgia goes away soon.

Does anyone else constantly get mistaken for a nurse? To all the post-9/11 veterans, it’s a somber day that unites us all in the reason we fought. It’s easy to forget - especially with the younger generation having 9/11 be a history lesson rather than something they lived through. The waters became muddy with two wars and politicians, but you all stepped up and did your duty. Thank you all for your service, it’s an honor whether we crossed paths or not.
