Hi Applied to PwC Strategy& for a consultant role and havent heard back from a recuiter however, I received an email for a survey asking what am I looking for in the company in terms of their culture, values etc and what other companies I have applied to. Is this a typical process? Not sure if thats the step 1 in the process or I have been rejected. Any feed back is appreciated. I am graduating from Ohio State with an MBA and have 8 years of experience in corporate accounting and finance.
Need some advice here. I am a fullstack developer with 5 yoe in Angular and Python. My aim is to crack FAANG companies. Now I got an offer from HSBC in a credit risk model monitoring role using Python. It is close to a data engineer role.
My question is that will it be a good idea to shift from development role to a model monitoring role if I want to move to FAANG in the future?Or does FAANG not prefer people who are not in core development roles?Amazon Microsoft Google Adobe PwC EY Citi Barclays JPMorgan Chase
Digital interview process ?

10k salary bump, 130k to 140k, is it worth it?

If they agree to that, you win. If I were them I'd offer a discounted present value of the 30k.
My point is in regards to how OP phrased the explanation of the ask for a 30k bonus. If I were the one negotiating, that would be my response.
I agree that a bonus does not make up for salary because bonus is one-time and salary is a trajectory. While it's not a perfect model, OP is essentially foregoing 10k a year for the duration of employment at the target company (possibly longer).
For the $10k shortage over three yrs, so $30k signing to get where I want. As well as negotiate more PTO and stock options. Industry Move, tech. Seems reasonable. Any thoughts?
Thought is by three years I’m promoted and renegotiate salary or move on. It’s more to make up for short term loss. Ideally I would take less bonus and more salary, as that’s obviously fixed yoy. But I’m at the top of their salary band, according to them. Other option is to just come in at next level and be on the low end of that band.
it's also worth bearing in mind what you see your future trajectory as. will you still be there in 3 years? if not, then that 10k lower base salary is a part of your next negotiation. is there a plausible path to promotion on that time span? then you might find the difference erased or overshadowed.
sounds like they're willing to play ball, though. good luck!
