I got a call from HR and offer discussion was over couple of weeks back and still waiting for them to send me final mail to release offer. May I know if they take this much time to release offer, when I did a follow up call after 10 days they said they are waiting for some approval to release offer.
Any ideas i still have chances to get offer? BNY Mellon

Mysterious meeting pops up on your cal with your manager and/or HR. But I hope not! 🤞🏼
Chief
They normally leave hr off the invite, but surprise surprise when you join, there they are.
Oh man… In my case it was my senior account person suddenly taking an interest in what I was doing and how much I can get done on a Friday and asking me to cancel internal status for Monday. Then first thing Monday, manager asked me to jump on Zoom and sent a link. As soon as I got the link, my Slack and email got turned off and I pretty much knew. Manager and HR were on the Zoom.
Really hope this isn’t happening for you but you’ll get through it. It was tough going for a while but definitely the best thing that happened to me
Damn that’s brutal.

Boss stops putting you on new projects, asking you to send detailed status of existing projects, manager is all of a sudden in a lot of meetings without you, someone new joins the account and they ask you to train them (or your boss takes a new interest in the day to day projects), Friday afternoon meeting with your boss (and when you get there, you realize it’s also hr)
Rising Star
Also, sometimes the final meeting will be the last day of the month (instead of a Friday) so they don’t have to continue paying your benefits.
If you’re wondering if you’re about to get laid off… Get your book in order and start making calls/sending out emails.
You get an meeting invite via email from higher up with 1:1 and in the body of the email, it says “just checking in on how you are doing” you get on the meeting thinking it’s just a checkin 1:1(since you checked who was invited and the first to get on is HR and your stomach drops.
I seem to have bad luck with jobs. I've been laid off twice and fired once. The first time, my manager scheduled a one on one out of nowhere that said something like "chat". He was kind enough to warn me before the actual meeting with HR. The second time, HR scheduled a Friday afternoon meeting on my calendar. When I got fired, I got a phone call from HR one day, asking me to see them. They fired me on the spot and I had to leave immediately. But I sensed this one coming because the CEO kept rewriting my copy and even went so far as to hire out other copywriters on Fiverr to do my job, but they were cheap labor because I had to actually fix their work for them. The whole situation made no sense to me.
Yeah, I think so. The CEO seemed legit cray. I was having nightmares of that place when I worked there.
Vibe. I’m been laid off twice and both times I had a gut feeling beforehand. It felt like tensions were ramping up. Things were going unsaid. It was hard to put my finger on what was happening exactly y.
But I felt it.
The lesson: back up everything on your laptop once a week. Just in case.
Your project work slowly starts to disappear.
Management starts avoiding/postponing meetings with you (1:1s), you get less and less projects, direct superior starts asking for more detailed time entries, then your active projects, then to make a list of all your logins/passwords (usually under the guise of IT or InfoSec), your email "glitches" out randomly, and then after not being able to meet with management, you get a random meeting with them at the end of the week.
Either a rumour spreads or it just happens.
You may not know. It kind of happens fast. Hopefully that is not the case for you! Wishing you all the best.
