I was in the final stages of an interview with Microsoft two weeks ago, in partner marketing. Then the recruiter told me they were putting the hiring process on hold to assess the need for the role. Well, then we heard about Microsoft layoffs last week. Seems like most were in Xbox and Project Alpha but there’s not a lot of information out there. Should I hold out any hope that I’m going to get this job? Any insights on how much these layoffs have impacted the marketing org and/or new hiring?

All that's needed, not all the matters
No
Depends what service line. If you're audit, CMA and CIA aren't relevant to the job, so the firms not going to give you money for passing. Some other service lines I could see bonuses being paid. All depends on if the certification is relevant to the service line.
Depends if cert is relevant to service line, but you only get one bonus no matter how many you pass. Risk Assurance CISA and CPA are both relevant to our jobs and both have bonuses if you pass them. You don't get both though. So if you pass 1 you get one bonus, if you pass both you still only get one bonus.

CPA is apparently all that matters
I believe KPMG might pay a 1k bonus for certain certifications if it's applicable to your service line...don't think cma and CIA are on that list, though I could be wrong
^ Thats helpful. Thanks!
You still get bonus after year one at pwc. Just a lesser amount.
