That seems about right. Make sure you get a good balance / distribution between protein, carbs and fats.
Male, 190lbs, 2100 when I cut. 2500-3000 calories otherwise 😬
OP, i think thats fine! Working out doesnt always mean lifting things up and putting them back down. I go through phases and when I dont go to the gym or go running, I just try to do a little more than usual, like power walking to work or doing 50 squats before jumping in the shower!
Depends on your goals. I aim for 1500/day but focus mostly on getting the right macro mix
I think it totally depends on how much you work out and how aggressive your weight loss goals are. If you are counting to just make sure youre not overeating, i think 1400-1500 is good. If you want to lose weight, you can cut it more to 1200, but as someone that always struggles with eating and weight loss, I suggest that you keep at 1400-1500 and work out more because I once ate about 800-900 calories a day and it sure wasnt healthy. Live and learn :)
Hmmmm okay maybe I'll focus more on macros. Thanks to everyone's responses so far! Super helpful and definitely wanna come at this helpful and not veer towards disordered eating which has happened in the past
Macros matter more than calories. And body composition matters more than body weight!
Girl we the same weight. You Gucci.
@pwc2 like you want to weigh less? Idk I've always had more curves in the chest/booty area and feel like that weight/height combo can look so different depending on body composition.
I'd recommend also focusing on the breakdown of calories among fat, protein, and carbs
Yeah I try to do that...lean heavily towards proteins with a decent amount of carbs in the morning for energy
Find a TDEE calculator online. It'll tell you what you'd burn in a normal day without exerting yourself, then it adds in what you burn based on your exercise intensity and from there you take off cals based on your goals. I burn roughly 1500 as my basal metabolic rate and then usually get over 2000 with exercise and I try to eat around 1600 cals a day. I'm trying to cut but I think I'm actually under eating bc I don't track calories and loosely track macros
Also, don't really work out besides yoga in my room at night but that's just what I prefer right now...
I think you are in the right range but if you burn any from going to the gym, eat back to that amount.. I do 1200 calories usually eat 1000 before the gym. Burn around 400 (mix of weights and HIIT) at the gym and eat 500-600 for dinner.. female 110lbs
How tall are you? That should also make a difference?
Ah yeah, 5'4!
K1 you are so in the wrong. Weight loss is in the kitchen.
I eat anything and everything I want and my weight has fluctuated by 5 pounds at most. Legs of steel, toned arms, and solid core, just from the running. No skinny fat nonsense- skinny fat refers to people who diet but are inactive. They're not huge but they're not healthy either. High cholesterol, resting heart rate, low endueance, etc.
can't we all just get along
Exercise matters more than anything. Do that and the only thing you'll need to count is... I dunno but you get the point.
