“Gucci suits are like Corvettes. They’re a great way of telling people you didn’t always have money.” -@GSElevator

Goldman Sachs elevator?

I love the “why would you buy a depreciating asset” comment.

People forget that money is a means to an end, and not the end itself. Money provides us with many things - security, comfort, joy. Those are the things we want, and money allows us to get them.

If you’re making over $200k at a young age and want to use money for one of its intended purposes. I say go for it, particularly if you are also already competently addressing the other things by saving and investing and don’t let the splurge become the norm instead of a somewhat rare treat.

@accenture 3 by doubting people’s salaries you’re just exposing how few of these options you had at that age....

I would say the cayman too but it’s cramped. I don’t think there are any other mid engine cars at the Corvette price point.

Love Shareholder 1’s reply. Dead on.

Do it

If you want to be disciplined about it, save up cash and pay in full upfront. You can afford it on your salary, but only if your other spending isn’t out of control.

Then you either have the cash or will soon. Enjoy :)

I have the same idea for a couple years down the road. If you can please share any budget numbers from your income and cost of car as I’m always curious how I can improve mine to reward myself with an fun car, thanks ! :)

Go for it. Will do my best to help.

If you can afford it, get it. If you can’t, don’t.

That’s the most idiotic decision possibly ever. For god’s sake, get a grip bro.

Enjoy like Bill Gates and be a philanthropist till the time you have money, fame, wife/gf, etc on your side 😜
And don’t forget to invest in Bitcoin and Dogecoin

YOLO

Buy what you like. If you can buy the C8 at MSRP, pull the trigger or DM me the dealer and I’ll buy it

If you want a C8 wait for the performance version…I would rather get a c63amg and this is coming from a guy who doesn’t like Mercedes AMG division

What school did you go to/ what did you study boss? Coming out of undergrad making some serious $$$

Good for you man, that’s uplifting to hear. Keep it up. My two cents, if you like it, and you can obviously afford it, don’t care what these people have to say. Just do your thing and enjoy your life and your things that make you happy!

uplifting

Do it you work hard and should enjoy your life. Assuming you have no other debts and a solid nest egg and you don’t live above your means, go for it

My biggest financial regrets involve spending too much in my early 20s when I was making much more than I needed. An extra 100k I blew on stupid shit would be a million+ right now.

Invest the price across 5 hot growth companies you believe in, buy the car in 4 years with cash to spare from your investment (think people who invested a Tesla cars cost worth into Tesla 5 years ago are all millionaires now)

Subtle flex…..

Do it

Don't listen to these naysayers. Go for it!!! But maybe hold until z06 comes out.

Hey all! I went through the interviewing process with a company and we had a verbal agreement on X amount of salary per year. They liked me and extended an offer but the offer was for $15K less than what we agreed bc that’s what HR approved for. I was desperate so I took it. Accepting this offer meant that I had to relocate to the other side of the country. Omw that was 2500 miles, I received a call that they rescinded the offer. Is there anything legal that I can do to sue them?

In an auto accident trial, can you inform the jury in any way that the at-fault driver had insurance? I have a hard time believing a jury would award 7-figure damages if they thought the little old lady defendant had to personally pay. I’m just starting to do PI on the side by myself at my firm, so this is probably a very dumb and obvious question.

I had a baby almost a year ago. I should start a 529 account for my child but I am originally from France which also makes her a French citizen and she could easily go to college in France for not much money. It’s pretty much free there, I have 0 Student loan debt. With that in mind, a 529 would not be super helpful if we go that route. Should I consider other options? Do you have suggestions? Thanks so much!

Not sure if this is the right bowl but hoping to get some insight. I have a lot of student debt, and am considering refinancing with First Republic bank to get a (marginally) lower interest rate. However, their version of refinancing student loans has changed in the last couple years so now they offer you a personal line of credit. Is it a bad idea to refinance with a line of credit vs a regular student loan refinancing?
