It's okay to admit that you haven't experienced every situation they ask about. However, instead of saying you don't have an answer, pivot to a related experience that demonstrates a relevant skill. For example, if asked about a time you failed, talk about a project that didn't go as planned and what you learned from it.

These questions can be tricky, but they're really about showcasing your soft skills. Even if you haven't had a direct conflict with a coworker, think of a time when you navigated a challenging team dynamic or a difficult client situation. Frame it as a learning experience, highlighting how you communicated effectively, resolved the issue, and strengthened relationships.

These are all quite standard questions so if you felt unprepared to answer them that suggests you probably were unprepared.

It’s unbelievable that you’ve either never had or can’t make up a theoretical conflict with a coworker - it doesn’t have to be something huge and could be a ‘near miss’ potential conflict, but saying you’ve never had a conflict sounds like you’re either lying or unaware of others

Hi! Does anyone know what kind of knowledge is needed to crack the Data Scientist interview at Google?

I'm currently working in Marketing Analytics (primarily using SQL and a bit of pyspark). Apart from mastering SQL, I wanted to know from people working at Google what does it take to get there as a Data Scientist? (I'm very interested in Strategy Ops)

I plan to another 6-8 months in preparation and upskilling myself before I even apply.
Any help and guidance is appreciated! Thanks :)

Hi Everyone - Hope you are doing well.

My wife and me just moved to NYC (from Chile). We are trying to find her a Job in NYC, but its been hard through LinkedIn. Do you know any other ways we could try to get at least interviews? She is trying to join a business develop. team, ideally in energy, but obviously opened for other industries as well. She's 5 years of exp. w/ background of M&A in EY and Business development in Energy.

Would appreciate any hints for this!

Thanks in advance!

Made it to the on-site round for a Sales S&O interview. However, both of the interviewers are Managing Directors of Sales. I thought they would be other S&O managers. How would this affect interview questions (e.g would GCA case studies be sales focused?) how can I best prepare for this given a lack of a sales background.

Tough time getting past final step: I’ve been trying to make a career shift for 10 months now and continue to get rejected at the last step. Im confident in the value I can provide and do well at presenting it. However, once it’s comes down to me and 1-2 other candidates, I repeatedly have been turned down for the person who has more relevant experience as they’re a safer bet for the employer. Would love advice from anyone who’s dealt with this before. It’s tough to get them to take a risk on me
