The partner I work for just messaged me on skype at 11:00pm 20 minutes after sending an email telling me to send an email telling me to send an email. (That sentence is 100% grammatically correct.)

The biggest issue I see is the use of Skype. Your firm uses Skype to communicate?

Emailception.
But yeah I know that feel. I got woken up yesterday because a client from Belgium sent an email at 5 am our time requesting a ‘pencils up’ summary call at 9. Worked on the items, got in the shower during which time he called me three times and sent me 10 messages telling me to send an email that was ‘urgent’.

Generally curious how many companies offer phone reimbursement? My last gig did not but the current one does. Legally it seems, all employers are required to do so if we use our phone in literally any capacity (video call, slack, teams, emails etc). How prevalent is the issue of not reimbursing phone dues?

I am only 4 months into being a surgical coordinator. I love the position itself however I am struggling to adapt into my new work environment. My position puts me in a place where I need to interact with my new coworkers but they are not as welcoming as I expected. There is also another surgical coordinator however I have come to find from other staff that there is a long history of her running other staff away and not fully training other surgical coordinator staff properly. Any suggestions?

Any advice on how to tastefully tell your manager that you no longer want to be a charge nurse anymore? For us being in charge is having full assignment 3p-7p & being responsible for assigning pts , communicating w/ supervisor about various issues, making the assignment for next shift, and a mini report about each pt for the next charge. On the weekends, same responsibilities but 7a-7p. We don't get any additional pay for being in charge and I'm sick of the added responsibility and stress of it.

How are you guys thinking about booking appointments for 1st time H1B stamping? Every time I open the site, there are no slots available for 2022. I’m sure majority of you have faced the same. Also, heard that some people have reached out to agents and got their booking done via them. Is that even a safe option? At this point of time, having being waiting for appointments for months, I wonder if there’s any other option ?

I have an offer to do some consulting for a company based out of the UK (I am in the US). The job would not go through a consulting company but would be directly with the company. I have not done any consulting before so I am not sure how it works, what I would need to set up (they mentioned that I would start a LLC and bill them directly, no idea how to do that), how to determine the tax implications of this, or what hourly rate I would expect. Can anyone offer advice?

CA courts are still closed, and I’m worried I won’t be able to exceed (or even meet) my May goal after April.
