Great call on reworking the numbers. The $10MM was at the larger shop over a 12 month period and was a 76% growth for that agency. 13 to 23 in a year. And thanks for the Wunderman and Ratti posts!
Did you see the Ratti Report posted a director position in Boston? 200k+, but no other details
$10M in almost three years might have been huge for the 35 person shop but definitely isn’t for the 175. I don’t want to minimize your accomplishments, but you should find a different way to spin that than just the gross number
We’re hiring out of the New York office. Jobs posted online.
This is tricky ... I’m not sure leading with the $$ is the best way in. $$ matters but sellling $250k projects at a niche agency could be tougher than $10mm deals at a global agency. In other words, it’s more important to demonstrate the ability to hunt and then go after the work once you have a prospect on the line. For the $10mm did those come to you via inbound? Did you find the clients yourself? What was your role in the pursuit?
Those are all critical. And if a hiring company only asks about $$ you brought in then it’s likely a sign of their view of nbz. Obviously nbz is about bringing in clients and rev but having the great skills to work on a team to win clients is priceless.
If you’re looking for a move, identify a few companies you want to work for and then find your way to their c-suite and figure out their needs. That would be the best way to demonstrate you can do it for them too. And put you in an incredible spot because you will have earned the trust of the people you’ll work with.
