For what function? Complete HRIS or specific HR functions like payroll/ATS/learning?
Rising Star
We use UKG. Moved to it following a 7-year run with ADP.
It is a good platform that is constantly seeing product updates and new features added. I think their service support team is still recovering from the UltiPro/Kronos merger, but response times and quality are improving.
We looked at Workday in 2019 at the same time as UKG. Biggest reason we did not opt for Workday was the lack of expertise they brought to the product demonstration. The rep had only been with them for 6 months and declined to bring in any technical resources who could help address concerns we had. Our industry is specialized and there are certain challenges we wanted to address with the move to a new HRIS. Ultimately, Workday simply eliminated themselves by not bringing in a technical resource to the discussions.
Overall, we are pleased with UKG.
UKG is known for its strong payroll and time tracking capabilities while Workday is known for its integrated platform and its focus on user experience. Personally like Workday better.
UKG - do not consider. Life Events cannot be completed on a mobile device. Items change in your prod environment with no explanation. Literally audit tables stop working so employees who term just drop from carrier files. Employees don’t go over with term dates, they literally drop from the files and don’t get picked up on the Cobra file. UKG will close tickets that aren’t resolved because it’s the “policy”. I’m not even getting into tax issues or ludicrous business rules issues that make the system more complicated than it needs to be. These issues all happened in the past 48 hours. And they are common issues.
