Looking for advice on prioritizing money over career growth. I am 29 on a big team making $120K. The day-to-day is cool, but I don’t see much career growth. I have interviewed for other jobs but can’t find anything that pays as well. Should I just stay where I am for the money?

Considering taking a position with a small-cap in the US trying to build their legal department. The title is standard “counsel” although the work would be with the senior leadership team and reporting to the GC in Europe. How reasonable is it to ask for a bump in title - Senior counsel or Head of Legal, US? Millennials like us always assume we’re about to get fired - I actually have been laid off in a meeting with that title. But at my new job, my boss asked for a “quick chat” to literally ask me to change the title of a meeting and then chat about christmas. Now that I’m in management, I want to understand it better.

I mean when my friends call me, sometimes I would ignore or take a really long time to respond purposely, I also tend to not to reach out to people proactively. Therefore, I don’t have many friends. Is it me or people around me?

What book have you read that was helpful for your career and/or that you would recommend? Could be a technical book, management, etc. For me, it’s a book I read a few years ago: The Phoenix Project. I never thought I would read and like a novel about DevOps but I recommend it to all my managers.
