I have an upcoming Product Manager interview with BCGDV. HR told me it would be a 45 minutes Zoom call with a Product Director. I’ve heard there’s no case interviews, but they’re pretty vague about what the interview is like. Can anyone share their BCGDV recruiting experience and how I can better prepare for it? Generally curious how many companies offer phone reimbursement? My last gig did not but the current one does. Legally it seems, all employers are required to do so if we use our phone in literally any capacity (video call, slack, teams, emails etc). How prevalent is the issue of not reimbursing phone dues?

I was recently offered a Zoom interview. The school had 10 interview slots for me to choose from. Three were one day this week and the rest are next week. I chose the first time slot available. Should I have waited until one of the last slots so I was fresher on their mind when choosing a candidate? I am just sitting here stressing out until I here something. Also, do interviewers still appreciate a hand written thank you for the interview?

I am curious how other inclusion teachers are being utilized when the school is doing remote learning. I find that I am sitting in the zoom class and have very little opportunity to contribute. I am having discussions with my teachers on ways that I can better support them and the students when remote.

Why the heck do Recruiters and Hiring managers do such a poor job keeping applicants informed to the status. I had my time wasted with an opportunity for a fortune 100 position for 3 1/2 months. Phone Screens, Zoom Interview with hiring manager, Face to face with hiring manager. (Then asked for professional references) , impromptu Zoom meet with other leader who was completely disengaged. Then boom... six weeks of silence vague texts from hiring manager they were still going thru the process..

What are some good online communities (on Discord, Slack, etc) to join as a designer? Want to connect with fellow designers, possibly work on hobby projects together, etc... There seem to be quite a few for newbies in the space but looking for ones that aren't predominantly students/designers in training

Heads up. The Bar just emailed out invitations for two free online CLEs in the first week of may. I've been doing these Zoom courses as they are offered and it's going to significantly reduce my end of the year stress.

I can’t handle the networking thing sober.... I’ve been sober 4 years and I still find it incredibly difficult... also a young professional

Question: Friend is starting to seek treatment, should he tell HR that he is getting treatment or keep it quiet. May want to go to inpatient at some point Trying to be supportive and give good advice.
