Vanguard Target Retirement 2065, VOO, or both for 401k? Currently 22 years old

I would do TD fund. More diversification, auto rebalancing, simpler. Just bc VOO has gone bonkers the last 12 years doesn’t mean it always will.

All the are great options. Target date will probably offer slightly smaller returns over time but it is not a bad product as long as the fees are reasonable.

Great job starting early, keep it up and don't overthink it.

Might consider VTI which has greater diversification than VOO.

Target date fund also a decent option.

definitely look at fees! at least at Fidelity my target date fund has much higher fees than the VOO Fidelity equivalent

FXAIX is kind of close- much better fees than the target date fund and similar returns and diversification

Hi Fishes,
Had a very serious query. In my current organization I was not under taxable bracket by any means so I didn't submit any investment declarations or anything. But I'll start a new job in 2 weeks where I'll be under taxable bracket. So will I get a chance to submit my investment declarations in the new company for tds calculations in the middle of the year ? I'm new to everything so would appreciate your help. TIA :)

I don’t get it: Why would anyone invest, for example, in a 6% dividend yield etf with a 0.50% ER (ie EMHY) instead of a 9% dividend yield etf with a 2.5 ER (ie YYY)? Wouldn’t you still be getting better results with the expensive one?

I feel like I've been living under a rock for ~5 yrs. I was happy and blowing off money with the thinking that I'll start saving once I start earning more.

Just realised that could've started early. I'm in mid 20s and thinking about investment. Tried watching YouTube videos. But I have pretty basic questions :
1. Where do I even start?
2. What %age of income should I invest?

I hope I'm not late.
