There’s room for negotiation around the edges, like I think you may be able to swing a modest signing bonus, but no room for negotiation on base or stock comp. That’s all lockstep.
Curiosity, what’s the scale look like?
IIRC starting base is like 175, but they give you a year end bonus so it equates to low 200 cash comp. They then give you equity but only like 5% vests the first year. The idea is that your total comp nets to like just shy of 250; the year end bonus goes away after a year or two, the idea being that the equity replaces it, and by year 4 you’re making in the 300 range all in. It’s designed to only really be worth it if you stay for more than 2 years at a minimum.
I also understand that the 175 in base comp never changes and it’s purely equity from there, no matter how much you get promoted.
I might be off on those numbers but that’s the gist. It’s been awhile since I interviewed there.
