Any advice from someone who’s quit consulting without a job (or school) lined up? I’m kinda miserable at my job and know I want to leave soon, but working non-stop makes it difficult to truly assess my next step. I want a little space, especially because I have no interest in going to another consulting firm or FAANG, but I don’t want to sacrifice job or school prospects for a gap.
Context: recently promoted, high-performing SC at 2 year mark; I know Deloitte offers LOA, but can I swing that?

What is the typical level at Google for someone with 14 years experience? Currently SM with deloitte and recruiter reached out for a sales strategy role at an L6.

I’m considering a less sales-oriented role that doesn’t pay commission. The new role will have a higher base but lower overall earning potential.

What % haircut should be expected? As an example, if I make 100k (base + commission) today, would it be realistic to ask for 90k (10% cut) + equity to make up the difference?

What are your thoughts about wearing only a casual graphic tee for an interview at a non-tech company?
