Is firm travel back up to pre covid levels?
Anyone with recent experience recruiting for Boston Consulting Group? Got in touch with a recruiter through referral, was directed to submit an application and already finished my pymetrics. Anyone know when I would be able to hear back and what the hiring timeline looks like? Recruiter suggested to get back in a few weeks but isn’t it too slow? McKinsey sent me an invite for 1st interview in a few days after they received my referral.

Have a good pitch for why you’re interested
Focus on advice questions - what worked well for you to prep, what do you wish you’d known in case prep, what should I do to be most successful, how’d you pick office / how should I
Don’t ask stuff that can be answered on website (when is application deadline, what are major industries in this office)
I personally hate the “describe the culture” question because it is so mushy. A better way to get a feel IMO is to ask them to describe their most important relationships at the firm.
I don’t think “how does your staffing process work” will decide where you should go work, but a lot of candidates seem to care
Be direct on the referral. “I’m most interested in x office. Would you mind referring me to the recruiter there?”
It’s fair to ask hard questions (like about McKinsey negative press recently) but you should do so carefully so that you don’t make them defensive or turn the conversation negative.
So don’t ask
Do you know anyone who served ICE
Do you believe the stuff in the NYT articles
How many other bad news stories are yet to be published
Try
I’ve seen negative press and I’ve seen Kevin Sneader interviewed talking about the cases and changes. What’s the most positive /effective change you’ve seen come from these events?
(Shows you’re balanced in seeing news, looks for positive, and is very telling if they say ‘nothing’s changed’)
