Hello people, how common is a Amazon to PWC move ?
I’m interviewing for a Senior Associate role and TC seems to be more competitive than role in L5.
TC $114k- Base AMZ- $73k +$38kstocks ( vesting 17k$ due next year)
TC $135k Base PWC -$81$ + Bonuses ( 50k$)
Looking for managerial skills which the PWC role avails, and L6 promo doesn’t seem to be happening soon in current role. I’m also mentally stretched. I hear WLB in PWC is just as busy but can anyone confirm if this move makes any sense. Google Amazon

By giving them all the soul crushing work that their less capable coworkers couldn’t quite nail, and completely overworking them until they decide to quit. Ultimately resulting in their next promotion by way of a counter offer.
In the words of Don Draper, "That's what the money's for."
Of course, promotion, bonus, day(s) off are always welcomed, but I get where your coming from.... two things have stood out for me.
One time I was crushing it because I was getting crushed. On the next project some of the leadership at my agency rolled up there sleeves and helped me out. I’m talking about making slides, working with my team late night and sending me home early to spend time with my husband etc. This might not seem like a “reward” but looking back on it, it was super rewarding.
Second example was actually something I did to reward/recognize someone on my team. He had been crushing it on a few tough projects, while playing a key supporting role on several new business pitches. Recognizing that it can actually sometimes be more difficult and draining to play a supporting role in new business and knowing he wanted to lead a pitch, I vouched HARD for him to lead the strategy on the next one. He did, and I was there to help when needed, but he made the decisions. We didn’t win, but he got rewarded, he learned, and we got stronger.
These are 2 examples that were meaningful, and were rooted in action and personal sacrifice, but perhaps that’s why they stand out.
I’ve also seen and have gotten things like spa days, an outing with my team, tickets to a play, all agency email..
* you’re .. their ... so sorry, so many typos. ironically, it’s been a long day of “crushing it” haha
- comp days
- monthly recognition with monetary awards at staff meetings
Is Digitas still giving out those AmEx Gift Cheques as a reward for going above-and-beyond? The best part was watching it wrinkle up in your wallet over the course of many months as you tried to convince cashier after cashier that it is, in fact, real currency.
My company does a mid year recognition all hands where SVPs give an award to a standout performer for whatever they want to call it. Last year, my boss gave me an award for “Managing complexity” lol. It wasn’t a promotion but it still felt good to be recognized in front of the entire agency so everyone knew how great I was doing. It’s not a participation award and not everyone gets them. Like one person per account or whatever how you want to do it. Its competitive but also encouraging to other people in the agency to be more standout performers if that drives them at all. 🤔
