What certifications do you guys recommend getting for someone in Advisory PI? Thinking about PMP, maybe Agile, anything else? Is there anything that the Partners like to see?

Get a cert in your area of focus. I.e. Only get a PMP / Agile cert if you want to be a project manager.

If you're in FSO and interested in learning more about finance from a theoretical standpoint, a CFA is never a bad idea. If not for the designation, then the journey towards getting it.

Which PI group? Have you considered studying for the CFA or Lean Six Sigma?

What's the Agile certification?

Robotics certifications are hot these days

New fish looking for career guidance.

I'm a corporate recruiter with 3 years of experience. Finishing my degree in HRM 5/2022. I'm thinking of getting my SHRM -CP shortly after graduation.

I'm not sure of where to go after that, but I doubt I will stick with recruiting or my current firm.

Has anyone here started off in recruiting and branched out to other HR functions? Do you like your new role? Do you wish you stuck with recruiting?

I have two questions. I have 10 years of experience in multiple sectors and I have been trying to gain a leadership position. I am attempting my PHR this summer but what are some tips in order for me to obtain a leadership position? Also, how long does it take to obtain another position out of state? I am trying to move to Houston but I don’t want to move until I am confident I can obtain a position in the city before packing up and leaving.

Hello, hoping for some input on how to time a job change. At a startup - we are doing well now but unless we have complete turnover in management I don’t think we have a bright future post-COVID. I could coast here 1-2 years before having to look. I’ve been here for a little under a year. This is my second in house job after 10 years at the same firm. The market is hot now, probably won’t be in 1-2 years and I am getting interest for good roles. OTOH I don’t want to look like a job hopper.

Is your life any better after GC ?

I am in the EB1 C boat with July 17 PD, but keep asking these questions to myself :
how would a GC change my life ? Other than giving me an option to switch.

I'm at a career juncture and have decided on a career in anti-money laundering as my new path. I'm also highly interested in additional education to further my career and am eyeing graduate school. Which is best? A law degree or a master's in international relations? Those are where my interests lie. I keep reading that JDs are valued in compliance but am wondering if a different graduate program is better for my goals. I already plan to obtain the CAMS certification. Thank you!
