What do you guys do with your video conference backgrounds? I used to be in a team where we only do audio. The new mgr seems to prefer video. My background is plain door I am not that comfortable sharing other parts of my home because my husband sometimes walks around half naked(1b1b in NYC). Plus I do not like how I look on the Skype video, and don’t prefer heavy make ups while I am at home. Can I just not turn on camera unless needed? Our firm actually discourage video for bandwidth reason.

My wife and I just had our second child, and we have also been dealing with her cervical cancer diagnosis. It has been a stressful year, to say the least. I want to do something nice for her, but money is tight right now because of the cancer treatment costs, and her being on unpaid leave because of the cancer treatments. What is something low cost I can do that will be a nice “couples thing” so we can de-stress, but also make her feel special?

I love teaching art but am having to teach remotely to 1150 kids, k - 5. Have about 54 amazing elementary art teachers in my district that share SO much! I could retire (34 yrs), but just don’t want to because I love what I do! Came back to school in August with a cruise ship still sitting on my stage. We walked away from Anything Goes the day after the sitzprobe because of the quarantine. Still taking the wind out of my sails.
