saved my work
Wish I did coke with that hot vp client at a holiday party

I’ve found that saving aggressively is the best thing you can do as a general habit working in this business. It gives peace of mind to have lots in reserve when you get laid off, even if it’s very annoying to then have to burn through money to pay bills, that could have been put towards more productive ends like investments to help build wealth or retirement.
Ultimately, do some soul searching on whether it’s worth it to work in an industry that requires you to save so aggressively for the highly probable event of job loss, and taxes you dearly if/when it happens.
- Understood COBRA
- Got a good employment lawyer to review my separation agreement
- Minimized my spending and maximized my savings
- Built the best possible relationships with my clients
- Built up my LinkedIn profile so my first post wasn't an awkward Some Personal News announcement
- Saved my work in a portfolio site
Got out of this industry years ago
My bad. OP asked what we wished… (I wished I got out of this industry years ago).
I wish I didn’t have so many things connected to my work email (food delivery apps, etc). Wish I had a saved more of my work. Made a copy of my contacts list, my web bookmarks, etc.
Saving my work down to my personal files. It caught be by surprise once. Never again. Whenever I get that HR invite for them to announce some change I always panic and save everything before joining.
Anything to think of/account for with taxes?
Promoted #democracyatwork so we could lay off the terrible leadership instead. Saved more jobs.
