$400k-$2mm+
you don’t automatically become partner by just “staying for the long run,” btw.
Roughly. B4: $400 to $2m average $1m. MBB: $700 to $5 average $2m. Less at ACN/IBM. Less than biglaw. Lots more than most other options.
Would argue it’s not less at ACN. While we may not have “partner title” there is a distinction between MDs and Senior MDs - SMDs pull anywhere from $400 TC - $2m

M1 is pretty close firm where I sit. Our new MDPs (so, 7-8 years post MBA) would be ~$1M. A handful Sr MDPs might pull $6-8M in an exceptional year. $3-5M would be a more repeatable level for rainmakers.
True. I discounted new MBB partners to more of long run average and less “best years ever” which is where we’ve been for a few now. and yup - there are some upper outliers.
I did the math when I was looking at my MD run. For our strategy group our lowest level partner starts around 500k total comp (can probably get to 600k at our lowest level but need to progress to the next after that (cl3), MC and technology are slightly lower. The challenge with our structure is much of it is tied to RSUs and total cash would top out pretty quick ($400k for cl4 our junior band) and $500k for cl3). This is even more challenging as some of the comp is built on matching contributions to our stock purchase plan, so a lot of our new junior MDs see take home cash lower than SM for the first 2 years (although overall comp is a lot higher).
