Hey y’all - I work in Strategy at Adobe. After 10+ years of consulting at Big 4’s, and Ecomms, I’ve never worked at a place with better work/life balance w/ pure strategy work. Roles are remote til Nov’21. DM if you’ve found a role and would like a referral. We need more recovering mgmt consultants. ☺️

I have a M1 Mac Pro from Accenture and no one in IT knows how to do anything on it, so I got workarounds for vpn and random admin software. But for everything else it’s banging.
Joining D and I was told I’ll be getting a windows laptop. Is there a way I can request for a MacBook? I have been using MacBook my entire professional career and I am pretty comfortable using it.

But…but…I got an HP…

I have a pretty dope Macbook Pro

Same. They even tricked it out with an upgraded CPU and RAM. I will admit that there was a steep learning curve to switching to Mac for work.

I have two pretty dope Chromebooks (an ultra light and a larger one). I could also get a 6-7k apple desktop if I want, but I'm happy with what I have

What’s your role?
S& (and more broadly pwc) has HP x360 g5s, I think they're kinda cool since they're touchscreen and foldable and look a bit different from the standard ThinkPads
I think they’re giving out G8s now, but yeah, they’re solid.
The HPs KPMG handed out were actually dece
The Z book isn’t bad but wish it had a bigger main screen.
BCGs Macs are top notch. The Lenovos are god awful.

KPMG because the laptops die and have a short life span so you end up working less
EY gives people the saddest Dells but a lot of us seemingly have never worked elsewhere so they don’t realize it’s trash. You can find a Mac depending on your client or business unit though. We have Citrix if you’re in the know.
My Dell has “high specs,” so I won’t necessarily notice the impact apart from more heat but I do know there’s quite a few lower spec laptops floating around that are being cycled out and OneDrive must be hell! Lmao! My Mac is fine as long as parallels isn’t running

I have a pretty highly spec’d ThinkPad, not the standard issue I had some upgrades done due to the size of datasets i work with but it’s great.

I have a MBP but I was sooooo close to getting the Linux lappy with 32 GB ram. Uber hands out decked out m1 max btw
MacBook Pro 16’ and HP x360. Not bad
We have been told that we will get the upgraded M1 pro by mid year, as of now we have the 2020 model.
The HP elitebook G6 that EY gives out is pretty nice. I have a personal MacBook Pro and I like the HP equally.
MacBook Pro :)
Anyone use external monitors with your laptops? Is this something firm would provide or comp you for? Am old school and can’t stand just one screen and hate the trackpad mouse....
C1, yeah firms absolutely will provide this. EY allowed me to purchase one on their dime for around 200-250 and I paid the difference from what I recall. My first midsized firm also provided 2-3 monitors depending on the service line as well as a standard portable monitor.
EY is offering macs as a standard option for laptop refreshes as of this month.
I will definitely be looking into this
Do any firms let you bring your own? If the data is cloud based?
Was just curious. About to upgrade and since WFH I hate switching btw 2 laptops for personal and work.
KPMG does the firefly hps. I’d say really not bad the vpn connections are horribly slow
I have a MacBook Pro and loving it 🥰
